We can use the following clause to illustrate the functional notion of Subject. Genesis 1:7(a) וַיַּעַשׂ אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָרָקִיעַ. Subject—the interpersonal view. אֶת־הָרָקִיעַ אֱלֹהִים וַיַּעַשׂ Constituents the barrier deity and he made Translation Residue Subject Finite Mood In this clause, אֱלֹהִים deity is labeled the Subject in the interpersonal Mood view.
